We warmly invite you to the Open Studio of Gagan Singh after his three month residency in Zurich.
“It’s about my exploration with narrative of comic books, wandering in the city of Zurich, looking into mental health, being caught up in depth & distance of things, learning from Youtube videos about cognition. Squeezing in workshops and putting all of this together in a meaningful way.
As days passed by, I shifted from experiencing what is a material to getting troubled with the thought of depth. The walking kept me alive, so did cooking on my own. The Youtube videos were a gift and Instagram conversations created a layer on the mind as unseen moments which made all the difference while being awake.
I slept very little. The days became short. The research could go on forever. I will now pick the best stories possible.”

“I’m interested in the relationship between science and nature, the balance between how we live, take decisions, create and consume things. Its the non sensical nature of human thinking which fascinates me. That anything can be possible. I like the practice of sketchbooks, as a medium to work with. I also like to respond to sites, locations.”
